The incredible classic car is a priceless part of The Nethercutt Collection, and the automotive YouTuber was lucky enough to take it for a drive.
No man perhaps loves cars more than Jay Leno. The comedian and former chat show host has an amazing collection of vehicles, and showcases them on his YouTube channel Jay Leno’s Garage. He also loves to drive cars from other people, collections and car companies too.
In this latest video, he has The Nethercutt drop by with a great car. It is a 1930 Cadillac V-16, a priceless part of their collection, and Leno is lucky enough to have a look at it as well as take it out for a drive.
This car is a real gem, and the museum is only up the road from where Leno’s garage is. As he says, it is a hugely impressive car and one that was actually built in total secrecy. For the era, the car is very quiet, and while it is not about speed, it is about effortless performance. He compares it to something more like a modern Tesla. There is a lot of advanced engineering on this car, such as the dual water pumps, at a time when Cadillac was setting the standard.

Cameron Richards, vice president of The Nethercutt walks through the car with Leno while it is in the garage. We get a look under the hood at the engine, in which oil is also filled on both sides, and it is a pure work of art. Everything is neatly tucked away and covered to keep it neat and tidy. It's very much form over function, but the engine is easy to work on. There are dual carburetors, a vacuum pump for the fuel, and under the plate on the engine is where the wires and spark plugs are.

There is plenty of space in the V-16. At the back, you have your own windshield you can put up while still keeping the roof down. There is enough legroom in the back too, plus storage compartments if you want to hide your bootleg. Leno gets to take the car out for a spin, and he remarks about how effortless the car is, and it pulls whenever you need it too. Plus, with its fantastic suspension, it's supremely comfortable and absorbs any bump very well. This is probably a car Leno wishes he could have in his collection.
